RIVER TV SHOW, VIDEO

Local writer Chuck Strinz has created an hourlong television show titled "Back on the Mississippi," focusing on the river, its towns and such historic events as the Grand Excursion of 1854.

The show, which is to have a humorous but educational tone, is expected to be broadcast on Twin Cities Public Television in June and then be made available on DVD and VHS format.

Details: The show was prompted by Strinz's experiences during a 1996 trip along the river. It is being produced locally.
